The Connector Is A Joint Unit Between The University Of Missouri’s Division of Research, Innovation, and Impact And Office Of Extension And Engagement

Our core mission is to connect the people, resources, tools and ideas of UM System research and creative activities for the purpose of research development, communication, engagement and professional development to benefit the people of Missouri, the nation, and the world. We achieve this by providing research and professional development opportunities, engagement resources, and programming through meaningful partnerships with faculty, students, and staff at our institution and surrounding communities.

The Connector supports professional development programming throughout the life cycle of a research or creative works project. Our growing catalog includes workshops and resources available to faculty, students, and staff that range from short self-paced modules to intensive multi-year programs. The Connector supports the development, implementation, and evaluation of broader impacts programs for federal funding proposals.

The Connector is the hub for the NSF-funded Center for Advancing Research Impact in Society (OIA-1810732).

Proposal Development

The Connector provides research development workshops and training opportunities, and consults with researchers on NSF broader impacts criterion and outreach and engagement activities related to extramural funding.

Researchers can work with the Connector team to receive one-on-one consultations for proposal development from initial idea generation through the development, implementation, and evaluation of broader impacts and engagement activities for extramural proposals.

Engagement Programming

The Connector is focused on filling gaps in existing programming, and working with partners to create opportunities for underserved and/or underrepresented members of our community.
